Drawmer - MX30-Pro Dual-Channel Dynamics Control

The Drawmer MX30-Pro is a 2-channel analogue dynamics processor incorporating a gate, compressor and limiter for precise audio signal processing. Its design draws on principles developed for Drawmer’s professional models to offer user-friendly operation with consistent processing quality.

Drawmer has consolidated several essential stages of sound control into a single rack-mounted unit. Each effect allows you to shape the dynamics with a musical and intuitive approach.

This model was designed to deliver the signature Drawmer sound across a range of environments, from recording studios to live set-ups. Its design makes it easy to manage level variations, and it is suitable for use with instruments, vocals or sources requiring precise signal control.

The MX30-Pro’s Gate section utilises an ‘Adaptive Programme’ circuit capable of automatically adjusting its operation according to the incoming signal. The Fast and Slow modes allow the response to be tailored to different audio sources, such as drums, instrument microphones or vocals.

This technology reduces unwanted triggering whilst preserving natural attack. The variable threshold offers high precision for cleaning up a signal laden with noise or better defining certain elements in a mix. Dynamics are thus controlled with finesse, without the processing sounding artificial.

The soft-knee compressor built into the Drawmer MX30-Pro operates with a gradual approach to preserve the musicality of the processed signal. The threshold, ratio and output gain controls allow you to achieve different levels of compression, ranging from a gentle correction to more pronounced limiting.
Its automatic attack and release ensure a smooth adaptation to level variations. This section becomes a versatile tool for balancing a recording, stabilising an instrument or preparing a signal for the next stage.

The MX30-Pro’s Limiter section provides effective protection against excessive peaks thanks to operation with no detectable response time. Its variable threshold allows the intervention level to be precisely adjusted, with an output adjustable up to ±20 dB to balance the final volume.

The stereo link maintains a consistent image between the two channels when processing stereo sources. The input, output and gain reduction meters provide an immediate readout of the signal’s behaviour. This functionality offers clear monitoring during mixing, playback or amplification.
