Elektron - Syntakt
The Elektron Syntakt from Elektron combines the power of a drum machine with the finesse of a synthesiser, giving you a sonic playground where each track becomes a world in its own right. With its 8 digital tracks and 3 analogue drum tracks, you can sculpt kicks, snares, cymbals or synths with surgical precision, enhanced by multi-mode filters and assignable LFOs for dynamic modulations. The keyboard mode and its 36 scales open up a surprising melodic space, while the 64-step per pattern sequencer lets you reinvent your grooves without limit. Every detail has been thought out to bring your rhythms to life with palpable energy, a bit like vinyl ready to jump on stage.

Syntakt features 8 digital tracks with a choice of 10 machines (kick, snare, clap, percussion, cymbals and tone synthesis engines), each equipped with digital overdrive, multi-mode filters and 2 assignable LFOs. On the analogue side, there are 3 drum tracks (15 different machines, including powerful kicks, sharp snares, rimshots and noise generators) and 1 track dedicated to cymbals with 12 analogue machines. Each offers the warmth and energy characteristic of analogue synthesis, enhanced by advanced modulation possibilities.
A 64-step Elektron sequencer provides granular control: individual pattern length, micro-timing, retrig and parameter locking. The 4 expressive modifiers add instant variations, while a dedicated FX track incorporates delay, reverb and analogue distortion to add colour to your creations.
The Syntakt can also be used as a powerful MIDI sequencer, with 4-note-per-step polyphony, assignable LFO and 8 CC control. Integration with Overbridge offers direct audio and MIDI streaming to the computer, making studio production easy.
In terms of connectivity, the Elektron Syntakt has 2 balanced audio inputs and 2 balanced audio outputs, a headphone output, MIDI In/Out/Thru and a high-speed USB 2.0 port. Its clear OLED screen, robust construction and 3-year warranty make it a reliable tool for both studio and live use.

For the uninitiated, the machines in the Elektron universe are special sound generators - synthesizers inside your synthesizer.
Assign the sound of each machine using the intuitive and fun graphics. Select and route your tracks, as well as external inputs, via the FX track. You've got delay, reverb, analogue distortion and filters, plus a few LFOs to play around with. Play freely and wildly with the four expressive modifiers, unleashing your sounds with different velocities, reboots and various settings of other parameters. Access a variety of different scales via keyboard mode - some familiar, some a little less so - to help you discover new places and take your playing to the next level. And finally, the 64-step Elektron sequencer lets you create dynamic soundscapes.
