Epiphone - 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue TV Yellow + Etui
An electric guitar inspired by an iconic model, the Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue TV Yellow retains the great aesthetic and sonic lines of its 1960 ancestor. It boasts a solid mahogany body, two generous cut-outs to get the high notes without unnecessary gymnastics, and a pair of Gibson USA P-90 pickups for a muscular sound. The glued mahogany neck has a slim D-profile that glides under your hand as if your fingers had signed a non-aggression pact with the rosewood fingerboard. This Inspired by Gibson reissue doesn't just flatter the retina: it embraces its vintage heritage without shying away from modern pleasures.
Presentation
The glued mahogany neck of this Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue TV Yellow was not designed to decorate a wall. Its slim D-shaped profile, inherited from the 60s models, takes you straight to the point with almost suspicious ease. The 22 medium jumbo frets are at their best on a rosewood fingerboard, itself slightly domed thanks to its 305 mm radius. Even the most ambitious bends remain on friendly ground.
Beneath its vintage looks and TV Yellow colour scheme, which smacks of tube amps and bell-bottoms, this Epiphone hides a few clever tricks. Its Wraparound bridge, faithful to the original model, anchors the strings with welcome stability. This is the kind of guitar that makes you forget about the tuner, thanks also to the Graph Tech saddle and Deluxe tuning machines. The resonance is immediate, almost physical. And despite its apparent simplicity, it can be surprisingly versatile, as long as you talk to it properly.

A nod to history: the double cutaway wasn't there when the Les Paul Special was born. Introduced in 1958, its main purpose was to prevent guitarists with arthritis from getting stuck on the 15th fret. The result: today, even your highest-pitched solos become flat-ground strolls.
