The SC203 is an ideal solution for professional desktop use with limited physical space, for multimedia or home applications, or for demanding gamers, for example. A pair of SC203s consists of a 2-way master/slave system with four amplifiers. Each woofer and tweeter is associated with its own 30-watt PWM amplifier with separate filtering section for perfect control of response. Each monitor is equipped with a 3-inch multilayer woofer and a brand new AMT tweeter. This 'High Resolution µA.M.T' tweeter has been specially developed for exceptional definition of high frequencies, with great precision and absolute clarity. Non-removable grilles protect the woofer and µA.M.T tweeter from damage. For optimum connectivity, the SC203 is equipped with three types of input: analogue RCA, digital optical and USB. A subwoofer output with volume control allows you to connect an additional subwoofer (such as the EVE Audio TS107 or TS108) to the master monitor and create a 2.1 system. The rear panel features a DIP switch that allows the SC203 to be used as a broadband or satellite monitor from 80 Hz.To increase flexibility, each monitor is fitted with a FlexiPad, an orange rubberised V-shaped stand that decouples the monitor from the surface on which it is placed, and allows it to be tilted at 0°, 7.5° or 15°. An optional mounting adaptor allows the SC203 to be attached directly to a microphone or speaker stand with a 3/8"" screw thread. Combined with the 'Mic thread wall mount', it allows the monitor to be fixed directly to a wall if the architecture of the venue so requires. The mounting adaptor for the SC203 does not preclude the use of the FlexiPad: placed between the monitor and the adaptor, the FlexiPad eliminates any resonances and refines the orientation for perfect vertical placement. The use of woofers in small speakers requires specific parameters to be taken into account. To reproduce the lower end of the spectrum with precision, Eve Audio has developed a 3"" woofer with a multi-layer cone and a 1"" voice coil that provides ample, linear excursion. In addition, located on the rear panel of the SC203, a passive diaphragm, which can be likened to a passive loudspeaker driven by the force of air, enhances bass reproduction and allows the frequency response to go down to 62 Hz (-3 dB) with very little distortion. Thanks to the passive diaphragm technology and a few engineering secrets, the SC203 behaves like a true full-range monitor, offering accurate bass reproduction despite a very small footprint. Like all EVE Audio monitors, the SC203 benefits from high-resolution DSP electronics. At the touch of a button, you can access volume control, balance and other settings (low and high shelving filters, LED brightness, input selector, monitor position - Flat, Desk and Console). These settings make it easy to adapt the system to your environment and the way you work. An LED indicates the status of each selected setting. A high-quality Cirrus Logic 192 kHz/24-bit A/D converter delivers a perfectly pure signal to the DSP section. As the PWM amplifiers are connected directly to the DSP, no further conversion is required. The challenge of transposing the sound quality, low distortion and high definition of Eve Audio's famous A.M.T. tweeter into a smaller transducer required intensive research. The result is a new tweeter, the µA.M.T. The high-definition µA.M.T. tweeter offers incredibly nuanced high-frequency reproduction with extraordinary precision and clarity. The folded diaphragm of the µA.M.T. high definition tweeter has a surface area of just 400mm², less than half that of the SC204 RS1 tweeter. An integrated waveguide optimises the dispersion characteristic over a wide frequency band. With this tweeter, it's easy to find the ideal listening position. To complete the system, Eve Audio has combined powerful neodymium magnets with optimised magnet and diaphragm supports to minimise distortion at operating levels.
