With the V4 S5, KRK continues to build on a philosophy well known to sound engineers: providing reliable, consistent monitoring that can be adapted to any production environment. This is no longer just a conventional studio monitor, but a fully connected tool designed to integrate seamlessly into modern workflows.
The design is based on a bi-amplified architecture combined with components developed specifically for this series. The 4-inch woven Kevlar woofer ensures highly controlled reproduction of the low and low-mid frequencies, with excellent control even at high volumes. The soft-dome tweeter, meanwhile, delivers a clean extension into the high frequencies without excessive harshness, making long mixing sessions more comfortable.
One of the key features of this V-Series is the integration of the KRK Mesh system and the KRK Control app. Once connected, the speakers can be controlled remotely: adjusting levels, applying EQ, selecting presets, comparing listening profiles or managing multi-speaker setups. This allows you to switch from a simple stereo pair to more complex setups, including immersive configurations such as Dolby Atmos, without having to physically adjust each speaker.
The internal processing also plays an important role. The monitors feature an advanced DSP section that allows the frequency response to be adapted to the working environment. Several EQ presets are available, complemented by finer adjustments to correct for room effects or adjust the sound perception depending on the speaker’s position.
KRK has also focused on the system’s overall consistency: Class D amplification using high-end components, optimised signal conversion, and precise phase and dynamics management. The aim is not to ‘colour’ the sound, but to provide a stable foundation on which to work.
