Focal - Sub6 Be
The Focal Sub6 Be is an active subwoofer (350W RMS internal amplifier BASH technology) designed for professional monitoring systems. The Focal 27cm composite sandwich diaphragm “W” driver is loaded through a large laminar port. The Sub6 BE can be used as an LFE channel within a multi-channel system. It also offers additional bass or sub-bass in stereo configuration (2.1 or 2.2). The Sub6 was developed to allow optimal acoustic coupling with professional monitoring speakers. For this, it integrates numerous settings such as a stereo high-pass filter (75 Hz – 100 Hz) dedicated to the left and right speakers, a configurable low-pass filter with mono summing, a phase inverter, an adjustable phase, a MUTE switch , a 2.1 bypass controllable using a control pedal (not included), as well as a connector panel rich in possibilities.

An important advantage: the Sub6 has a footswitch input. It allows you to connect a pedal and has the effect of muting the subwoofer as well as deactivating the high-pass filters on the outputs supplying the monitors. The footswitch input allows you to compare listening in 2.1 (Sub6 filtered + monitors filtered by Sub6) and in 2.0 (subwoofer deactivated + wideband monitors). The comparison is made instantly, by simply pressing the footswitch, and without the need to move.
Presentation
The richness of the connections allows use in 2.1, 2.2 and multichannel via the L/R inputs and outputs and the LFE input. The numerous settings, such as the high-pass filter dedicated to monitors, the fully adjustable phase and the level management, ensure optimal coupling with the Solo6 Be and Twin6 Be monitors.
Last point, the little extra that makes a big difference: the footswitch input. It allows you to connect a pedal and has the effect of muting the subwoofer and deactivating the high-pass filters on the outputs supplying the monitors. This greatly simplifies and improves the control of the work carried out during the different phases of the musical project.
