Focal Twin6 ST6, a new-generation 2.5-way monitor speaker designed for professional studios, particularly those specialising in mixing and broadcast, and suitable for multi-channel set-ups such as Dolby Atmos. All the expertise of Focal, further enhanced and still manufactured in France. The Focal Twin6 ST6 marks a new chapter in the history of professional studio monitors. A direct evolution of the Twin6 Be model, it is aimed at sound engineers, producers and composers seeking faithful, stable and uncoloured reproduction at every stage of music production.
This 2.5-way monitor utilises a bi-amplified configuration featuring two 6.5-inch woofers with Focal’s exclusive ‘W’ composite cone, ensuring precise control of the low and low-midrange response. The sound reproduction gains in definition, articulation and depth, even at high volumes. In addition, the inverted beryllium dome tweeter offers extreme precision in the treble, without causing listener fatigue, up to 40 kHz.
The system incorporates large laminar ports designed to optimise airflow without turbulence, thereby enhancing clarity in the bass. Focus mode, which can be activated in the studio, transforms the Twin6 into a narrow-band monitor (110 Hz – 10 kHz), useful for checking the compatibility of your mixes on more limited systems.
In terms of connectivity, it features a balanced XLR input, as well as several acoustic adjustment controls: low-cut filter, low-mid EQ, bass and treble shelving filters, left/right polarity switch, etc. All these settings allow you to precisely tailor the monitor’s response to your listening environment.

Constructed from a 22 mm thick MDF cabinet, finished with an elegant dark red veneer and a black front panel, the Twin6 ST6 combines audio performance with refined aesthetics. • Wide laminar vent: no vent noise or distortion
• Automatic standby mode (can be disabled)
• Settings: high-pass filter, LF shelving, HF shelving, LPF @ 160 Hz
Based solely on the product specifications, these models do not appear to offer any improvement in bass performance. However, this can simply be explained by the fact that, since the development of the first Solo6 and Twin6 models, Focal has refurbished its anechoic chamber and modernised its analysis tools, thereby greatly increasing their accuracy. You will also notice that the product specifications for the original Solo6 Be and Twin6 Be did not specify the measurement range in dB for the frequency response.
If you haven’t already had the chance, we encourage you to listen to these new speakers and compare them with the previous Solo6 and Twin6 models. You will find that there is no decline in performance to be concerned about – quite the opposite, in fact!
