Designed for professionals who work with their ears to the millimetre, the Genelec 8040 BMM delivers a clear, dense and faithful signal, ideal for mixing in post-production, music or broadcast studios. Its 165 mm bass driver ensures a stable response right down to the low frequencies, without the need for a subwoofer in most configurations.

Class AB bi-amplification (2 x 90W) guarantees dedicated processing for each transducer for perfectly controlled dynamic reproduction, detailed midrange and accurate highs, supported by a 19 mm metal dome tweeter mounted on a DCW waveguide. The stereo image is wide, stable and incredibly well defined, even in the near field.

Thanks to its ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) system, the speaker automatically switches to standby when no audio signal is detected. This is an intelligent way of reducing power consumption in studios, where speakers often run continuously, sometimes for nothing.

The cabinet is magnetically shielded to avoid any interference with your analogue or digital equipment. As for the chassis, it rests on an Iso-Pod support that effectively isolates it from table vibrations. With a maximum SPL of 115dB, it remains comfortable even at high volumes, without saturating or distorting.
