The Genelec 8050B MM monitoring loudspeaker is aimed at sound professionals who need reliable and faithful listening, whether in a recording studio, broadcast control room or post-production facility. With a sound pressure level of 110 dB and a frequency response of 32 Hz to 20 kHz, this bi-amplified loudspeaker provides detailed monitoring, capable of reproducing the deepest bass as well as the finest treble, without coloration.

Under the bonnet, a 205mm woofer powered by 150W class AB amplification, backed up by a 25mm metal dome tweeter (120W), delivers ample dynamics and a neutral sound even at high volumes. All this is driven by the famous DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide) system, which improves the coherence of the stereo image and minimises unwanted reflections, even in acoustically imperfect spaces.

The design of the cabinet has been thought out to combine form and function: a redesigned port limits turbulence in the lower end of the spectrum, and the Iso-Pod support, supplied as standard, decouples the speaker from the work surface while making it easier to orientate. The result is clean, well-defined bass, even near walls or in complex configurations.

The balanced 3-pin XLR input provides a stable, interference-free connection to professional audio interfaces. Add to this integrated magnetic shielding, a 3/8" screw thread for mounting on a microphone boom, and the wall-mounting accessories included, and the 8050B MM is just as at home in a fixed studio as in an immersive multichannel installation.
