The Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Dirty Lemon Burst Light Aged embodies the essence of a legendary era, recreated with meticulous craftsmanship by the Gibson Custom Shop.
Considered the Holy Grail of electric guitars, this 1959 reissue captures the soul and distinctive characteristics of the original models with meticulous attention to detail.
The iconic Les Paul body, with a two-piece flamed maple top secured with hide glue, rests on a one-piece lightweight mahogany back. This choice of wood, combined with a Murphy Lab Light Aged finish, simulates decades of natural wear, giving this guitar an authentic look and unique feel.
Single-ply Royalite binding completes its vintage look, while nitrocellulose varnish ensures optimal acoustic resonance.
The solid mahogany neck, with a rounded Medium C profile from the 50s, offers unmatched comfort for extended playing. Its Indian rosewood fingerboard, with a 12-inch radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, is adorned with trapezoidal nitrocellulose inlays, bringing both style and practicality. The long tenon joint with hide glue testifies to a durable and faithful construction.
On the sonic side, this Les Paul is equipped with Custom Bucker Alnico 3 pickups, unwaxed for remarkable transparency and dynamics. The two pickups, combined with CTS 500K potentiometers and Paper-in-Oil capacitors, deliver a rich and varied sonic spectrum, ranging from legendary crunch to singing sustain. The three-position Switchcraft selector allows for smooth navigation between the pickups.
Hardware details like the nickel-plated brass ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum tailpiece, and Kluson tuners add to its authenticity. Subtly aged nickel finishes and gold Top Hats recall the visual characteristics of the 1950s.
