Folk Electro Acoustic Guitar

The Godin Century Mahogany Cognac Rustic is a Canadian-made dreadnought guitar, designed to deliver an organic and precise response thanks to its solid mahogany top. The Cognac Rustic finish gives it a more raw and textured visual appearance, whilst retaining the same balanced, woody tonal foundation. The mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard and a 25.5" scale length ensures stable playability, whether playing open chords or with a heavier touch.

The Godin Century Mahogany Cognac Rustic is a Canadian-made dreadnought, designed for musicians who want a direct feel under their fingers and a sound that remains natural. The solid mahogany top delivers a warm response with dynamics that respond well to subtle nuances in playing. The sapele mahogany back and sides contribute to even projection, with a sound that remains controlled even when you turn up the volume a little. The Cognac Rustic finish changes the instrument’s visual appeal, with a more matt and earthy appearance that lends it a distinct character on stage.

The mahogany neck, combined with the ebony fingerboard, maintains a smooth feel along the entire length of the neck. The 16" radius helps your fingers settle naturally, especially when playing complex chords or melodic lines in quick succession. The 25.5" scale length provides slightly stiffer tension, which is useful for maintaining precision when playing rhythm. The .012–.053 gauge steel strings deliver a clear attack without feeling harsh under your fingers.

When plugged in, the guitar utilises the Fishman Sonitone system, which captures the acoustic character without unnecessarily distorting it. The built-in preamp allows you to control the volume and presence directly on the instrument, which is handy for quick adjustments on stage. The signal remains clear, even in a busy mix, which helps keep your playing to the fore without straining. The ebony bridge supports the transmission of vibrations to maintain a good level of detail in the notes.

In a real-world playing context, this is a guitar you can use just as easily for writing at home as for live acoustic sets. The dreadnought body shape provides enough resonance to accompany vocals without having to overplay. It responds consistently, which helps you maintain your feel from one song to the next. It’s an instrument you barely notice in your hands, whilst remaining very much present in the sound!
