D'Angelico Excel Lexington Vintage Sunset The D'Angelico Excel Lexington Vintage Sunset channels the mood of twilight in an all-solid dreadnought. Presentation
You can even carry a sunset over your shoulder. The D’Angelico Excel Lexington Vintage Sunset features a solid Sitka spruce top with a gradient of colours, ranging from blonde to coppery, without ever compromising the sonic openness that only solid wood can provide. The solid mahogany sides and back provide that dense, warm bass, supported by a scalloped X-brace that allows the top to breathe and project without straining.
The non-cutaway dreadnought body, with a depth of 101.6 to 119.4 mm and a width of 406.4 mm, is adorned with a five-strip binding and a three-ring mother-of-pearl and black rosette – a discreet hallmark of craftsmanship. The Scarf-joined mahogany neck, with a C-profile and dovetail joint, supports an ebony fingerboard with a radius of 406.4 mm, featuring 20 Medium Jumbo frets and Small Diamond mother-of-pearl inlays.
The ebony Stairstep bridge, combined with a bone bridge saddle and a 42.9 mm bone nut, transmits every pluck of the string with a clear and long-lasting tone. The Fishman Sonitone duo captures and amplifies the acoustic tone without altering it, adjustable via simple volume and tone controls whilst playing. The gold-plated Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuners keep the tuning stable, and the DPADGABAG gig bag accompanies the instrument from the stage to storage. Made in China, this 5.34 kg guitar is equally at home in folk, acoustic pop or electric gypsy jazz.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
