Grace Design - Felix 2 Silver

On stage, achieving natural, controlled acoustic sound often requires much more than just a preamp. The Grace Design Felix 2 Silver has been designed to respond to this reality by bringing together in a compact format everything that is usually split between several pieces of equipment.

The Felix 2 is based on an independent two-channel architecture, designed to simultaneously manage a microphone and a transducer, or two different sources. This configuration allows fine-tuning of the mix between the two signals, an essential point for acoustic instruments where the balance between attack, body and ambience plays a decisive role.

The preamplifier circuit is directly inspired by Grace Design's studio expertise. The result is open, detailed and precise, without excessive coloration. This neutrality preserves the personality of the instrument while providing the level and definition needed for a clean mix, whether in front of a loudspeaker or on a recording.

The integrated equaliser offers extensive control but remains intuitive. Each channel has a variable high-pass filter that can also function as a notch filter to eliminate problematic frequencies. The parametric midrange covers a wide range, allowing you to intervene both on low resonances and on zones of presence. The bass and treble stages are designed for musical adjustments without distorting the signal.

The Felix 2 also introduces a number of useful developments for live performance. Variable phase control on the second channel enables a microphone and a transducer to be precisely aligned, making blending easier. Stereo signal management and effects loops that can be configured in mono or stereo open up additional possibilities for more advanced set-ups.

In terms of connectivity, the Felix 2 is particularly comprehensive. Transformer-isolated DI outputs allow you to send your own signal to the front panel, either as a mix or per channel. A dedicated stage amp output, an always-on tuner output and a headphone output complete the package.

Designed for the field, the aluminium and steel chassis is built to withstand the rigours of live use. The controls remain accessible and legible, even in low-light conditions, and the side guards prevent accidental adjustments.
