The Gretsch Catalina Club CC2-R424 Satin Antique Fade kit is distinguished first and foremost by its nuanced visual appearance. The Satin Antique Fade finish plays on the transitions in hue, with a slightly patinated appearance that evokes drums that have been played, lived and settled over time. It's not a demonstrative finish, but an aesthetic that speaks to drummers sensitive to instruments with real presence.
The 4-drum configuration is based on classic, versatile dimensions: 12" x 8" treble tom, 16" x 16" bass tom, 22" x 14" bass drum and 14" x 6.5" snare drum. This combination promotes fluid playing, with a full, legible bass drum, responsive toms and a snare drum that remains expressive even at low dynamics. The kit is just as suited to laid-back grooves as it is to harder-edged playing.
The 7-ply mahogany drums, combined with the 30° bevels, emphasise the roundness and depth of the sound. The 1.6 mm steel hoops ensure stable tuning, while the Mini GTS system and single tom holder make set-up easy without muffling vibration.
