The Gretsch Catalina Maple Antique Maple drum kit uses 7-ply maple drums for a clean attack and easy-to-control resonance. In the 20"-10"-12"-14" configuration, each element retains a projection suitable for smaller rooms.
With the Antique Maple finish, the kit has a very natural visual grain that will appeal to those who like the raw look of wood. To maintain aesthetic continuity, the set includes matching circles that emphasise the edges of the toms.
On the suspended toms, the support limits the points of contact to allow the drum to breathe properly. On the bass drum, the support elements are positioned to preserve the vibration of the wood. The rounded chamfers make it easier to fit the heads and help to achieve stable tuning in just a few minutes.
At low volume, the kit retains a definition that can be used in hushed settings such as a café-concert. When played with more energy, the midrange remains clear and avoids spillover.
