The Gretsch Catalina Maple Silver Sparkle drum kit uses 7-ply maple drums that provide a precise grain in the highs and a stable base in the lows. In this 20"-10"-12"-14" configuration, each element retains an easy-to-control response, helping to find a consistent setting without spending hours on it.
On the front, the Silver Sparkle creates a very bright visual appearance, which is appreciated in rooms where the lighting varies a great deal. To maintain aesthetic coherence, the kit includes matching circles that emphasise the lines of the toms.
On the drums, the suspension system allows the high tom to vibrate freely and maintain a natural sustain. On the bass drum, the fixing blocks are positioned so as to maintain minimal contact with the wood. On the toms, the rounded chamfers give the heads even support, making it easy to adjust both tight and open.
When played softly, the kit retains a legible attack that can be used in quiet contexts such as flat rehearsals.
