Les Paul Guitar
The Hagstrom Ultra Swede ESN (Essential) series is built simply and effectively to offer guitarists a serious entry-level electric guitar. The woods are mahogany, jatoba and maple, and the electronics are equipped with the same pickups as the top models, the famous Custom 62s. Hagstrom offers great value at an affordable price.

Presentation
With its more compact body, the Ultra Swede seems predestined for the stage, whatever the genre. Delicate girls, young teens and old rockers will appreciate the slim neck profile, 7/8 body and Custom 62 split pickups without the slightest moderation. They'll be seduced by its immaculately pure single-coil sounds, and by the power and presence of the humbucker tones. This all-purpose guitar offers the kind of value for money that has made it a best-seller in the Hagstrom family.

To find out more...
Hagstrom began making guitars in Sweden in 1958, and by the early 1960s they were in demand for their playability, design and build quality. Unlike the 'global monoculture' as they like to call it, which consists of just a few well-known electric guitar designs, the electric guitars made between the 60s and 70s were rich in variety and experimentation.
Hagstrom has never been an exception to this culture of innovation, and from the early 60s onwards, they gave the world atypical guitars that were out of this world - radical!
Asymmetrical shapes, new pickup configurations, innovative tone switch systems and the incorporation of new materials such as pearloid and glitter in guitar finishes... Hagstrom captured the imagination of guitarists everywhere!
This was also the period when Hagstrom pioneered key playing features such as the scalloped fingerboard, the H-expander truss rod (inspired by the Saab J-35 Draken fighter plane).
Together, these features have created the Hagstrom signature, a combination of bold design, solid all-round construction and consummate playability.
The RetroScape series is the perfect example of the authenticity of these guitars recreated in the rich landscape of Hagstrom history.
Their mission is to bring modern playability to the designs without compromising the cool-retro-badass feel that a guitarist looking for something unique, who wants to break the codes, rockn'roll through the ages!
