Despite its compact, lightweight format, the Bass Butler bi-amplified preamp pedal packs into a single compact box a Bi-Amping simulation that would have required a huge amount of hardware a few years ago.
Highly versatile, it can play an incredible variety of clean, bright and retro sounds, allowing you to create a personalised bass mix.
To do this, the box splits the input signal into two parallel analogue chains, producing a midrange-focused sound while retaining the thickness and warmth of the bass.
The Bass Butler is equipped with multiple controls and comprises two sections: a 'Guitar Bass' channel (always active) and a 'Guitar' channel (overdrive), giving you access to a titanic variety of sonic possibilities.
The Guitar Bass channel features a compressed 2-band tone control, while the footswitch-activated Guitar channel has a 3-band EQ and gain control for precise shaping. Both sections feature independent volume, bass and treble controls, as well as a common D.I. output with cabinet simulator.
The optical compression circuit on the bass channel allows precise adjustment of low frequencies while retaining their rich, balanced character. It is associated with a boost/attenuation controller.
The guitar channel has 4 gain levels and an expression pedal for additional control. This overdrive can be called up at the touch of a button.
The immense possibilities for sonic combinations range from exploring clean vintage tones to massive bass distortion.
What's more, by using the Amp output, you can connect the pedal to your combo amp or amp head, either on stage or in the rehearsal room. The Bass Butler then becomes a veritable portable sound laboratory, allowing you to reinvent your musical signature.
In addition to the amp output, which provides the common signal for both channels, the Orange Bass Butler also offers separate XLR outputs for a clean, overdriven sound.
So all you have to do is plug into any mixing desk and tweak your mix to your heart's content!

At one time, it was quite popular to send your bass signal to a bass amp and a guitar amp at the same time. This was known as Bi-Amping.
This allowed musicians to have deep, clear bass and to amplify the mids and highs separately to add distortion or crunch with total control.
This kind of installation can produce enormous sounds, but requires expensive and bulky equipment.
