The Thorn Soundlabs Basstard is an analogue overdrive designed specifically for electric bass. The Damping control gives you precise control over the bass before saturation, keeping the bottom end clean and solid. With Blend and active 3-band EQ, you can easily adjust the balance between natural attack and saturated grain.

Presentation
The Thorn Soundlabs Basstard is an analogue overdrive dedicated to bassists who want to retain total control over their sound. It allows you to go from a slight warm grain to a more pronounced saturation without losing the definition of the notes. The Gain control adjusts the level of saturation applied to the signal. The Headroom acts on the distortion threshold and modifies the feel under the fingers.
The Damping control filters out low frequencies before the saturation stage. This prevents the bass becoming too invasive as the gain increases. In the low position, the bass remains wide and open. At higher settings, the bass becomes tighter and tauter.
Active Bass, Mid and Treble EQ allow the spectrum to be precisely sculpted. The Mid Freq switch changes the midrange centre frequency to target the area that should stand out in the mix. The Blend potentiometer mixes the clean signal with the saturated signal to retain the original attack and dynamics.
The Symmetry switch changes the type of clipping for a softer or more aggressive sound. The Class A/B switch changes the response and general character of the saturation. The pedal operates in True Bypass mode to preserve signal integrity. Powered from 9 to 18 volts, this compact and robust pedal will easily find its place on a stage or studio bass pedalboard.
