Presentation
The Pioneer DJS-1000 Black is a standalone DJ sampler designed to fit into any Pioneer DJ NXS or XDJ setup. The sampler features a 7-inch colour touchscreen, 16 multi-coloured step keys, 16 multi-coloured pads, a multitude of inputs and outputs, as well as live sampling capabilities.
The 7-inch touchscreen provides access to projects, sampling and effects, as well as sequence editing, track set-up and the mixer. There are 16 tracks available for sequencing loops, one-shots and sound effects. Each track uses a time-stretch engine that operates in real time and allows on-the-fly synchronisation. A Pro-DJ Link port is built in, allowing the sampler to sync with any Pioneer multi-player player, such as the CDJ-2000NXS2 or XDJ-1000MK2. If you want to sync manually, there's a tempo slider and nudge buttons.
The rear panel offers 6.3mm jack inputs and outputs, as well as stereo RCA outputs and two 5-pin DIN connectors for MIDI input and output. The sampler also offers two USB connectors (Type-A & Type-B) for connecting USB sticks containing sample libraries, as well as for connecting a computer (Mac/Windows).
The free DJS-TSP software is available for creating scenes and projects offline. What's more, all files created with the Pioneer DJ Toraiz SP-16 are compatible for smooth transitions from studio to stage. The Pioneer DJS-1000 comes complete with a USB cable, LAN cable, stereo RCA cable and power cord, as well as the Decksaver DS DJS-1000 protective cover.
