The Larnell Lewis ProMark RBLLW-FG FireGrain signature drumsticks are designed for dynamic, accurate playing on acoustic drums. This model has a 5AB diameter of 14.7 mm, positioned between 5A and 5B, for an effective compromise between control and power. The modified acorn-shaped wooden olive widens the strike zone and improves definition on cymbals and skins.
The long tapered profile shifts the balance point backwards, facilitating natural bounce and technical work. The increased length to 16 1/4" makes it easier to reach remote parts of the kit without forcing the gesture. This configuration helps to maintain a fluid feel even in fast or complex playing situations.
The wood used is hickory treated with the FireGrain process, which consists of hardening the structure by controlled heating. This treatment increases the lifespan of the mallets in the face of repeated impacts without altering their weight or response. The feel remains familiar, with vibration absorption for long sessions.

Larnell Lewis is a Canadian drummer best known as a member of jazz fusion band Snarky Puppy, which he joined in 2011. He has gained international acclaim for his ability to learn and record complex songs in a very short space of time, as on the album We Like It Here, where he played without listening to the songs in advance. Alongside his career with Snarky Puppy, Lewis is a sought-after educator, giving masterclasses and clinics around the world, and he teaches at the University of Toronto.
