The PRS Silver Sky is an idealized version of a vintage single-coil guitar where every detail adds up to set this vintage-sounding guitar apart. The result of a close collaboration between John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith, the Silver Sky is based on years of development. Incorporating Mayer and Smith's favorite elements from the 1963 and 1964 instruments with a dash of modern references, the PRS Silver Sky offers the warmth and familiarity of an old guitar with the finesse of a modern instrument.

Presentation
The PRS Silver Sky in Tungsten is the result of a careful collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and guitarist John Mayer, who wanted a guitar that combined the characteristics of vintage models from the '60s with a modern approach.
Designed to evoke the sound and comfort of guitars from 1963 and '64, the Silver Sky features a refined aesthetic and attention to detail, from the reverse headstock to the unique neck profile.
The body of this Silver Sky is crafted from alder, a light and responsive tonewood that delivers a warm, well-balanced tone. The bolt-on maple neck, topped with a rosewood fingerboard, features a vintage-inspired 635JM-R profile designed specifically for comfort during extended play.
With a 7.25-inch fingerboard radius and 22 frets, this neck provides a classic feel under the fingers, allowing for precise bends and control of notes.
The three 635JM single-coil pickups, developed to capture the "round" and nuanced tone that Mayer sought, provide smooth highs and deep lows, without ever becoming too sharp or piercing. This sonic versatility is accentuated by a 5-way selector switch, which makes it easy to switch from a clear, crystalline sound to a warmer register, suitable for expressive solos.
On the hardware side, the Silver Sky is equipped with a PRS steel bridge with Gen III screws, which increases the instrument's natural resonance and improves tuning stability.
Vintage-style locking tuners ensure precise tuning while making string changes easier. The bone nut further strengthens tuning stability and helps transmit vibration.
Among the premium finishes, the curved metal jack plate and the front-accessible dual-action truss rod add a touch of practicality to this guitar designed for demanding players. The PRS Silver Sky Tungsten comes with a premium gig bag, ensuring protection and style when traveling.
