REVV Amplification - RV90 Extension Cabinet 1x12" Black

On stage, the Revv Amplification 1x12 RV90 Black functions like a membrane stretched between the amplifier and the space. The RV90 loudspeaker - a custom unit designed for this particular cabinet, not taken from a general catalogue - supports 90 watts RMS continuously. This is a physical fact that determines its behaviour under load: whereas a smaller-calibre transducer enters compression at high dynamics, the RV90 maintains its linearity of displacement and reproduces attacks with the same membrane velocity as at low levels.
The closed cabinet acts as an acoustic load on the rear of the loudspeaker. Unlike an open baffle, which allows the rear of the diaphragm to radiate, the sealed volume creates pneumatic damping to control excessive excursion. The result is a dense low-midrange, with definition in the lower register that doesn't flare out in the room. For the recording guitarist, this behaviour reduces the amount of capotage at the microphones; for the live performer, it concentrates energy towards the front, where the sound engineer needs it.
The fact that Revv manufactures this cabinet in Canada - in the same workshop, with the same control chain as its amplification heads - is not an argument of origin. It's a guarantee that the dimensional tolerance of the cabinet and the Thiele-Small characteristics of the RV90 have been measured together, in the same acoustic environment, so that the match between transducer and air volume is never an approximation.
