Presentation
The Rickenbacker 4030S Short Scale FireGlo embodies a modern take on the short-scale design whilst retaining the brand’s visual and sonic identity. With its 30" / 762 mm scale length, it offers a more relaxed string tension and a direct attack, encouraging fast playing and a comfortable grip, particularly for bassists with smaller hands or those seeking a lively response.
The construction combines a maple body with a maple/walnut through-neck, ensuring rigidity, sustain and tonal balance. The rosewood fingerboard adds an organic warmth that softens the natural brightness of the maple. The 24 frets expand melodic possibilities and allow for the exploration of more modern registers.
On the electronics front, the two Hot Wound Toaster (12k) pickups deliver a rich and expressive tonal palette. The neck pickup offers roundness and depth, whilst the bridge pickup provides bite and clarity. The passive electronics, featuring two volume controls, two tone controls and a 3-position selector switch, allow you to easily shape the sound, from dense bass to incisive mid-range.
Designed in collaboration with Jesse F. Keeler, this compact bass is aimed at musicians who want a strong presence in the mix, whether in the studio or on stage.
