Rme - AES25 Tascam PRO 5m
Whether it’s an audio interface, a converter or a digital sound card fitted with a 25-pin D-Sub connector, the RME AES25 Tascam PRO 5m cable provides a direct connection to a second piece of equipment using the same AES/EBU architecture. Its two male D-Sub 25 connectors allow all eight digital channels to be carried in a single cable, whilst the 5-metre length facilitates installations where devices are separated by a cabinet, a rack or several units in height. The TASCAM pinout and 110-ohm impedance are suitable for professional AES3 applications up to 192 kHz.
Presentation
This architecture is suitable for equipment that uses a multi-channel AES3 connection via D-Sub 25. In particular, it can be integrated into a system combining an audio interface and a converter, several rack-mounted digital devices, or various components of an audio production chain. The TASCAM format ensures that the connections match at both ends.
The internal cross-cable wiring establishes the correspondence between the input and output channels. The connection can therefore be made directly between compatible ports, without the need for a distribution box or breakout cable. This design also reduces the number of visible cables behind the equipment and makes it easier to trace a digital link within a rack.
The 5-metre length is the main advantage of this model. This length allows for greater flexibility in the layout of equipment when it is not placed immediately side by side. It can be useful in a control room, a studio, a post-production facility or a technical rack where equipment occupies several slots.
