Rme - MADI 10m Duplex
Ten metres of fibre separate the two ends of the RME MADI 10m Duplex digital cable, providing ample scope for setting up a digital audio link between MADI equipment installed in separate locations. Its SC connectors and 62.5/125 µm multimode fibre make this a Duplex optical MADI cable suitable for audio installations requiring longer distances.
Presentation
The connection utilises SC connectors and a 62.5/125 µm multimode optical fibre. The Duplex configuration uses two fibres, each with a diameter of 2.5 mm. This design corresponds to the Duplex optical MADI connections in the RME range and thus differs from the Simplex models, which feature a single fibre.
The RME MADI 10m Duplex is therefore a suitable solution for establishing an SC-to-SC MADI connection when the distance between the equipment requires a longer cable. In particular, it can be used as a MADI digital audio cable for studios or as a MADI optical cable for control rooms, with sufficient length to accommodate a setup where the various devices are not directly adjacent to one another.
Its orange sheath also makes it easy to visually identify the cable within an installation comprising multiple connections. The model number MADI10D identifies this 10-metre version within the RME MADI Duplex range, alongside other lengths designed for different cabling requirements.
