Rme - RM19-II
The RME RM19-II is a 19-inch rack adapter for RME half-rack devices, enabling compatible units to be installed in a standard rack space. It is specifically designed to accommodate the Fireface, Multiface II, MADIface, QuadMic II, ADI-2 and AVB Tool models compatible with this mounting solution, with a design tailored to RME devices measuring 23 cm in width.
Presentation
Compatibility spans numerous generations and product families from the brand. In particular, the RM19-II supports the Multiface II, the Fireface 400, UC, UCX and UCX II, the QuadMic II, the MADIface XT and XT II, as well as several ADI-2 models: ADI-2, ADI-2 FS, ADI-2 Pro and ADI-2 Pro FS. The AVB Tool is also among the compatible devices.
This list is particularly important when choosing the right RME rackmount for an audio interface. The RM19-II is not, in fact, compatible with all of the brand’s half-rack devices. RME explicitly lists several incompatibilities: Multiface I, Digiface, RPM, ADI-4 DD, ADI-2 DAC, ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition, ADI-2/4 Pro SE and Digiface AES.
The RME RM19-II is therefore aimed at users who wish to integrate a compatible RME interface into a standard 19-inch rack or cabinet. For a fixed installation, a control room or an audio rack, it serves as a 19-inch rack mount for RME interfaces and facilitates the mechanical integration of a half-rack unit into a professional setup.
