Rme - Toslink Pro 2m
Two metres in length to connect TOSLINK-compatible digital audio devices without the need for multiple connectors. The RME Toslink Pro 2m combines a 1 mm low-loss synthetic fibre with professional connectors featuring a metal shell and gold-plated copper contacts.
Presentation
Inside, RME uses a low-loss synthetic fibre with a 1 mm core. Its design is also advertised as having low jitter. These characteristics describe the design of the fibre used for optical signal transmission and distinguish this cable from a simple lead where only the length and connectors are specified.
The connectors feature a metal-shell construction, described as a professional-grade design. Their contacts are made from 24-carat gold-plated copper. RME states that this choice is intended to enhance connectivity and protect the signal at the connection points.
The cable has a black finish and maintains a diameter of 5 mm along its entire length. These features allow it to be easily integrated into an audio system without adding features that are not necessary for the connection itself.
The Toslink Pro 2m is part of a range offered by RME in 1, 2 and 3-metre lengths. This version therefore falls between the other two available lengths and meets a specific need: to provide a two-metre TOSLINK optical cable whilst retaining the construction and components specified for the Pro series.
