Rme - Toslink Pro 3m
Measuring 3 metres in length, the RME Toslink Pro 3m cable connects two devices fitted with TOSLINK interfaces. The cable features a 1 mm low-loss synthetic fibre, metal connectors and 24-carat gold-plated copper contacts. It has a diameter of 5 mm and a black finish.
Presentation
The optical section uses a synthetic fibre with a 1 mm core. RME states that this is a low-loss, low-jitter fibre. The cable is therefore specified according to these transmission characteristics, with no other electronics integrated into the cable.
At each end is a TOSLINK plug with a metal shell. The contacts are made of 24-carat gold-plated copper. RME associates this type of connector with good connectivity and signal protection. The construction of the plugs is therefore an important feature of this Pro version.
The cable itself is 5 mm in diameter and has a black sheath. The 3-metre length simply provides greater distance between the two connection points than the shorter models in the range.
The Toslink Pro 3m therefore remains an optical digital link cable with clearly defined specifications: a length of 3 metres, low-loss synthetic fibre, a 1 mm core, low jitter, TOSLINK connectors with metal shells and 24-carat gold-plated copper contacts. These features allow the cable to be precisely identified without adding any specifications that do not appear in the technical data provided by RME.
