The Schlagwerk IRT52 Infinity Rain Tower Textil Raindance is, first and foremost, a sound object – a piece with a minimalist design and clean lines that fits neatly on a shelf or coffee table without dominating the room. Standing upright, it waits for the moment when it is turned over to release its sound, a controlled downpour that lasts around 5 minutes before fading away of its own accord.

The multi-layered birch body is covered in a natural textile, lined with cork support surfaces that cushion contact and keep the object stable on its base. No plastic parts are used in its manufacture; the glue is formaldehyde-free, and the varnish is water-based. This choice of materials is designed to stand the test of time without succumbing to the throwaway culture – a commitment that is also reflected in the short production chains, from raw wood to the hand-crafted object in Germany.
