In a studio, a treatment room or even in your bedroom, this Meinl Sonic Energy OSTD2NB tongue drum works wonders. Thanks to its D Amara tuning, it gives off warm, enveloping vibrations.
In the centre, the deep bass sets the tone. All around, 8 blades sing in double octave to enrich the sound texture. Made from stainless steel, it resonates well and is robust.
At the base, three small silicone feet make it stable on a smooth surface. You can play it by hand or with the wooden mallets supplied. And by plugging the hole underneath, the sound becomes shorter and more direct.
Visually, its deep navy blue colour is a real eye-catcher. The braided rope gives it a cool, bohemian feel. Slip it into its zipped bag, and it'll go everywhere with you.
