Active electronic pre-amplification system for electric bass, with 3-band EQ, for 2 active pickups. Tone Circuits add enormous tonal versatility to any bass. It allows the musician to boost or cut specifically targeted frequencies to obtain specific tones and compose an exceptional timbre, whatever the situation. 2 Trimpots on the circuit board let you preset the frequency contour EQ exactly the way you want it.

The STC-3A tone control is designed to work in any bass equipped with two active pickups, it has 4 control buttons (Volume/Slap, Mix, Low, Mid, Hight) and requires 1 9V battery (2 9v batteries can be wired in series, for more margin).
The treble control can produce a wide, bright response, but is gentle without being shrill.
The midrange control can be used to remove excess midrange or to add a sonic power that will really make your solos stand out.
Bass can be reduced to add punch, or increased to add warmth and punch.
The Slap Switch is a push-pull switch located on the volume knob. Pulling the volume knob will activate the special EQ contour, designed specifically for slap playing.
The two small adjustment potentiometers on the circuit board can be modified to preset the slap contour EQ as you wish.
