Tascam - DA-3000SD
The Tascam DA-3000SD combines a PCM/DSD master recorder and a high-definition A/D-D/A converter in a 1U rack-mount format designed for high-end mastering, audio archiving and production studios. Compatible with PCM up to 192kHz and DSD up to 5.6MHz, it provides extremely accurate audio conversion with a fully symmetrical architecture and ultra-stable TCXO clock.
Presentation
Capable of recording in PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit and in DSD up to 5.6448MHz, the DA-3000SD captures a signal with an extremely high level of detail. The user can choose the format best suited to the project, depending on the desired rendering, the nature of the audio programme or broadcast and archiving constraints.
The conversion section is based on BurrBrown PCM1795 converters combined with a fully symmetrical dual-mono audio architecture. This design limits interference between channels and helps maintain a precise stereo image, extremely low noise floor and excellent sonic depth.
The integrated TCXO clock generator ensures stability of less than ±1ppm to drastically reduce jitter. This precision benefits both mastering operations and the use of the DA-3000SD as a stand-alone converter in a high-end DAW environment.
The DA-3000SD boasts a comprehensive range of connections, including analogue inputs and outputs on balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital connections, and SDIF-3 interfaces for DSD streams. Word Clock connections also enable integration into complex synchronised systems.
The DA-3000SD can also be used as a high-fidelity monitoring converter. Placed at the output of a digital audio workstation, it provides particularly detailed monitoring for mixing, mastering or audio restoration operations.
