The Taylor 512ce Next Generation electro-acoustic folk guitar combines Indian rosewood and Western red cedar to deliver a warm, full-bodied response and detailed reproduction of nuances, all with elegance and precision. Presentation
With its Grand Concert body shape, the 512ce Next Generation retains modest dimensions whilst offering a balanced projection. The 631.8 mm scale length improves the ergonomics of the neck, and the quick response of the cedar top highlights variations in attack with great clarity.
Among the standout technical features, the Taylor Scalloped V-Class bracing enhances overall resonance, boosts bass presence and improves note separation. It also helps maintain clear articulation between registers, allowing every nuance to be distinguished with perfect precision.
The Indian rosewood back and sides enrich the harmonic spectrum with full-bodied and detailed overtones. Combined with a Western red cedar top, it contributes to a warm sound where the notes gain depth. The overall design delivers a responsive feel to variations in playing style, with consistent behaviour across the entire frequency range.
Aesthetically, the natural gloss finish highlights the wood’s grain and complements the black purfling and green abalone inlays. The gold-coloured tuners add an extra touch of lustre, creating an elegant contrast that catches the eye without detracting from the main materials.
In terms of sound capture, the Claria system combines a sensor and a preamp designed to respect the instrument’s acoustic character. The controls located at the soundhole remain easily accessible, whether for on-stage amplification or for recording purposes. This design emphasises the clarity and balance of the reproduced signal.
