Since its inception in 1989, the SansAmp Classic preamp simulator pedal has been used by professionals around the world. Discontinued in 2016, it was reintroduced in 2021 due to growing demand. This analog pedalboard is made in the USA and is the work of B. Andrew Barta, the pioneer of “direct”. Its design, with its eight tone knobs and three preamp selections, continues to enrich various musical styles.

The SansAmp Classic Preamp Simulator Pedal stands out with its fully analog emulation system. This system faithfully reproduces the entire signal chain of a tube amplifier, from the preamp to the power amplifier, including the speaker simulation.
This model integrates a speaker simulation that can be adapted to various types of guitar or bass setups. It also allows the optional addition of an external impulse response (IR). This allows you to further customize the sound. Designed to ensure a homogeneous sound response, it avoids anomalies such as peaks or dips that are usually encountered with certain microphones and IRs.
It offers a full range of settings to adjust the preamp and power amplifier. It sports controls for volume and final tones. Its design includes a flat output. This facilitates smooth integration with external equalizers. With a panel of eight character switches, three input options, and three tone controls, the possibilities are endless.
Powered by a 9V alkaline battery (not included), it can also be powered by an optional DC source (model #DC9) for extended use.
