The Trace Elliot DI Transformer box converts balanced and unbalanced signals without altering the sound. It features a proprietary 1:1 transformer designed to preserve full dynamic range, including very low frequencies. The Trace Elliot DI Transformer is designed to connect balanced and unbalanced equipment seamlessly. It features an audiophile-quality 1:1 audio transformer, developed to respect the original signal without coloration.
The proprietary design with a high-permeability Ni-Fe core maintains an extended low-frequency response. Frequencies remain legible down to 14 Hz, so there's no loss of low notes, even on a five-string bass. The response remains even throughout the useful spectrum, with no audible imbalance.
The enclosure can be used to transform a symmetrical signal into an asymmetrical one, or vice versa, depending on the needs of the system. It includes a high level of electrical isolation between input and output to limit ground loops and interference. The integrated ground lift switch helps to manage hum problems in live or studio environments. Low distortion ensures a clean signal, even at high levels. Insertion attenuation remains minimal to preserve overall level.
The box accepts signals up to +22.2 dBu, making it compatible with instrument and line sources. It integrates easily into a pedalboard or professional audio system. Its passive operation requires no power supply. The robust construction is suitable for regular use.
