Trace Elliot - Overdrive

The Trace Elliot Overdrive pedal is designed to work specifically with the frequencies and dynamics of electric bass. It features a proprietary circuit with soft asymmetrical clipping, designed to reproduce progressive tube-like saturation.

The large headroom reserve ensures that the bass remains full and stable, even at high gain settings. The Drive potentiometer adjusts the level of saturation, from a slight graininess to a more pronounced overdrive. The Level control lets you fine-tune the output volume to suit any amp or effects system.

The Tone control acts as a simple EQ to define the overall presence and balance of the signal. The Blend control mixes the clean signal with the saturated signal to preserve the fundamental of the bass. This approach avoids the loss of definition often associated with conventional overdrives. The pedal includes an independent Dry output, ideal for sending the clean signal to a front panel, a second amp or an external processor. The main output can then remain dedicated to the processed signal.

True bypass keeps the signal intact when the pedal is switched off. The internal bipolar 18 V power supply offers more dynamic range than a standard 9 V power supply or battery. The response remains consistent throughout the useful bass frequency range.
