Warm Audio's Direct Box Active will not alter the sound of your instrument.
The excellent CineMag USA transformer, the printed circuit board (gold-plated tracks), the top-of-the-range discrete components, the aluminium chassis, the switches, buttons and connectors all help this DI to outperform all competing DIs on the market and make it your ideal studio, stage or rehearsal companion.
For instruments with passive pickups, such as electro-acoustic instruments, use the DI in active mode. For other uses, switch to passive mode.
The Direct Box Active's Thru jack output is connected to the jack input. It is used to send the sound from your instrument to a console, your stage monitor or an audio interface, depending on your needs.
The usefulness of such a socket cannot be overstated, especially when you're in the studio and headphone monitoring latency disturbs your playing. You can record your instrument in the sequencer (DAW) via the classic output and monitor your sound via the Thru socket without latency!
