The WA-47jr uses an in-house reproduction of the vintage k47 capsule, designed with the same hole pattern and frequency response. The Warm Audio version of this capsule (model WA-47-B-80v) is meticulously crafted by an Australian capsule manufacturer who has the knowledge and skill to capture the essence of this type of microphone. The WA-47jr's low noise and fully discrete signal path coupled with an excellent capsule of this type means that it sounds very similar to the classic '47 microphone, but at a contained price. The WA-47jr uses the same capsule as its big brother, the tube WA-47.
The circuitry of the WA-47jr has been modernised and simplified compared with the classic '47 tube microphone, using high-quality Toshiba FETs, Wima film capacitors and Panasonic electrolytic capacitors. This combination produces a quality and sound far superior to anything you'll find in this price range.
