Yamaha - FG9 R Natural + étui
Yamaha's new FG9 R encapsulates all the expertise of the Japanese luthiers at Hamamatsu. With its elegant, aesthetic cutaway, this Dreadnought-sized model uses rigorously selected woods, including solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a solid Adirondack spruce top, mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard. The body/neck joint is a glued/screwed hybrid assembly, for maximum vibration and extended sustain.
Presentation
FG9 models feature Adirondack spruce tops with tapered edges, providing excellent structural strength while allowing the body to vibrate more efficiently, a combination that contributes to both power and sensitivity.
The neck features a new structural design that combines precision-fit, screw and glue assembly to increase vibration transmission to the body and improve sustain.
The inlays on the fingerboard resemble traditional Japanese Kumiki woodwork, while the interlacing inlays on the purfling around the rosette are a motif deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
In designing the FG9, state-of-the-art 3D structural and acoustic measurement processes were used to better understand how the physical structure of the instrument affects the acoustic characteristics, and various prototypes were built by the skilled luthiers at Yamaha's Custom workshop.
