Yamaha - FS9M Natural
Yamaha's FS9M Natural guitar, made in Japan, features a combination of solid Adirondack spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides, offering exceptional sound projection and remarkable clarity, particularly suited to singer-songwriters. Its 'Concert' body shape ensures superior playing comfort while producing a balanced sound with a sensitive response ideal for fingerpicking and subtle arpeggios. Its design incorporates a refined Japanese aesthetic and a string-patterned rosette, underlining its status as a high-end, handcrafted instrument.
Presentation
The top is solid Adirondack spruce, renowned for its dynamic response, and the back and sides are solid mahogany, bringing a balanced warmth to the sound spectrum. The screwed mahogany neck, combined with an ebony fingerboard, offers a fluid playing feel.
The 635 mm pitch contributes to a slightly softer string tension, which can be appreciated for nuanced playing. The sculpted X-bracing adds to the responsiveness of the top, without sacrificing stability.
Aesthetically, the natural nitrocellulose finish lets the wood grain show through, while the tortoiseshell pickguard adds a classic touch. Moulded chrome tuning machines ensure reliable tuning. Supplied with a hard case, the FS9M is for guitarists who prefer precision and clarity, without the fuss.
