With 6-ply North American birch drums and 30-degree bevels, Yamaha's 20" RBFUSIONSOB Recording Custom Fusion Solid Black delivers clean attack, powerful projection and unmatched tuning versatility, confirming its status as a recording legend. The 20" x 16" raised bass drum (Steve Gadd specification) maximises birch resonance by reducing ground interference, delivering a punchy, accurate and deep sound, ideal for fusion or studio use. The weighted Hi-Tension shells are designed to reduce ringing, while amplifying the low frequencies of the birch. This unique design ensures optimum sustain and an articulate sound that's easy to mix.
Presentation
The drums are made from 100% American birch, with 6-ply construction for a clean attack and clear projection. The 30º chamfer and 1.5 mm radius ensure even vibration of the heads and contribute to a rapid response. The 1.6 mm chromed steel triple-flange hoops keep the sound in tune and stable, while the heavier shells enhance sustain and harmonic precision.
Each drum is fitted with Remo US heads, with sandblasted Ambassadors for the toms and bass tom, and PS3 Coated and Smooth White models for the bass drum. With a 20" x 16" bass drum, two 10" x 7" and 12" x 8" toms and a 14" x 13" stand tom, this kit covers a sound spectrum suited to a variety of fusion styles and playing contexts.
The Y.E.S.S. system optimises the suspension of the toms, leaving the wood to resonate freely. The kit is delivered without stool, hardware, cymbals, snare drum or sticks, so that each drummer can complete his set according to his needs.
