The Yellowtec iXm Recording Mic YT5010 is a recorder designed for journalists and fitted with a PREMIUM Beyerdynamic omnidirectional electret capsule. This capsule is intended for recording in quiet environments and also picks up some ambient sound, making it particularly suitable for discussions in conference rooms or voice recordings in the office.
The device features the LEA DSP engine, based on Level Energy Arbitration technology. It filters out background noise and ensures optimal audio levels at the touch of a button. Interchangeable capsules allow the polar pattern to be adjusted according to recording conditions, whilst the high-pass filter prevents the proximity effect commonly associated with directional microphones.
The YT5010 features a streamlined control panel and status LEDs for intuitive use. Yellowtec also highlights the absence of handling noise and a battery life of up to 14 hours thanks to intelligent power management. It is powered by three AA batteries and a built-in rechargeable battery, with automatic balancing between the two power sources.
Its matt dark grey anodised metal construction and dimensions of 3.5 x 25 cm, including the iXm capsule, round off this piece of kit designed for voice recordings for regular mobile use.
