Designed for conducting interviews in very noisy environments, the Yellowtec iXm Recording Mic Supercardioid Pro Head YT5060 combines a PRO dynamic capsule with a supercardioid polar pattern. Yellowtec has designed this configuration for situations such as major events, sporting events, motor racing or concerts.
The integrated LEA (Level Energy Arbitration) DSP processing filters out background noise and contributes to a natural frequency response and balance across the frequency range. Audio levels can be adjusted at the touch of a button, whilst the high-pass filter prevents the proximity effect typically associated with directional microphones.
The iXm also features interchangeable microphone heads, allowing the pickup pattern to be adjusted according to recording conditions. Its streamlined control panel and status LEDs make it easy to use. Yellowtec also highlights the absence of handling noise.
In terms of power, the device combines three AA batteries with a built-in rechargeable battery, automatically balancing the load between the two sources. Its total battery life can reach up to 14 hours. Its dark grey satin-finish anodised metal construction measures Ø 3.5 × 25 cm, including the microphone head.
