Presentation
The Altamira Basico CET 4/4 takes the accessible spirit of the Basico series, but with a different approach to the Basico CE. The key point here is its Cutaway Thin Body format. The thinner body really changes the feel of the guitar: it's closer to the body, lighter to handle and often more comfortable during long work sessions or when playing amplified.
This design will be of particular interest to musicians who come from a folk or electric guitar background and want to rediscover the feel of a classical guitar without the traditional volume of a standard body. The cutaway also makes it easier to access the high notes, so you can explore the neck further, work on modern arrangements or play more developed melodies.
The solid cedar top gives a rapid response under the fingers, with an immediate, warm sound. It's a wood that's appreciated for its ability to respond easily to touch, helping you to hear nuances from the very first months of learning. As with the solid top models, the sound character evolves naturally with time and hours of playing.
The African mahogany neck, back and sides support this quest for balance, while the Indian rosewood fingerboard feels natural under the fingers. With its 650 mm scale, 52 mm nut and built-in preamp, this Basico CET is perfect for classical guitar lessons, amplified acoustic playing, Spanish music, bossa nova, fingerstyle and contemporary repertoire.
