Martinez - Performer MS-12 RS

The Martinez Performer MS-12 RS is an electro-acoustic classical guitar from the Performer series, modelled on the proportions of a concert guitar. Its cutaway provides access to the higher registers and makes it easier to play in the higher positions with the left hand. The satin finish reduces glare under spotlights, whilst the natural colour allows the grain of the spruce to show through.

The solid spruce gives the top a full-bodied resonance and direct projection. The rosewood back and sides reinforce this foundation with deep bass and woody mid-range tones. The 25.59" (650 mm) scale length maintains a familiar tension for the nylon strings of a concert classical guitar. With a nut width of 1.89" (48 mm), there is ample space between the strings for left-hand movement.

The bridge-mounted piezo pickup captures the vibration from the strings, and the Martinez T4 preamp transmits it to the sound system whilst preserving the attack of the nylon strings. Martinez began its history in Germany in 1978, before relocating to Guangzhou in 2005. The brand collaborates with the American luthier Kenny Hill and has developed large-scale production using traditional Spanish methods. Its range remains dedicated to the classical guitar. The MS-12 RS is therefore equally at home in the practice room and on stage, with or without amplification.
