Martinez - Performer MS-12 MH

A satin finish beneath the palm, nylon strings beneath the fingers, and the Martinez Performer MS-12 MH already feels like a natural fit in the hand. This electro-acoustic classical guitar from the Performer series retains the classic shape whilst adding a cutaway that opens up access to the higher registers. Its satin finish allows your hand to glide smoothly without catching, and its natural colour showcases the grain of the spruce.

The solid spruce gives the top a rich resonance, with projection that fills the room. At the back, the mahogany back and sides lend a darker, more mellow tone, which tempers the brightness of the spruce. With a scale length of 25.59" (650 mm), this guitar retains a string spacing familiar to concert classics. The 1.89" (48 mm) nut provides the left-hand fingers with the necessary space between the strings. Its 4/4 size completes this balance with a body offering generous air volume and full bass tones.

The bridge piezo pickup captures the vibration as close to the strings as possible, then the Martinez T4 preamp sends it to the PA system whilst preserving the character of the nylon strings. Founded in Germany in 1978, Martinez moved to Guangzhou in 2005 and has worked with the American luthier Kenny Hill, whilst retaining traditional Spanish methods. From practice to recital, this guitar is equally suited to students and soloists, whether played through an amplifier or acoustically.
