A sound level display can be permanently installed in a venue, but some set-ups require greater flexibility. Audiopole’s SPL-DIS-BACKPAC, a cover with connection points designed for SPL-DISPLAY units, provides precisely this flexibility by transforming the rear of the unit into a dedicated connection and storage space.

The housing attaches directly to the rear of the SPL-DIS, SPL-DIS-REC and SPL-DIS-REC-DP displays. Its primary function is to make the connections more convenient to use: the various EUROBLOC connections are relocated and converted to Neutrik connectors. This makes the installation more accessible whilst benefiting from connectors better suited to repeated handling.

The external power supply normally used with the display is also housed inside the cover. Once installed in the housing, it is powered directly via a Powercon socket, using the supplied Powercon cable. This arrangement therefore reduces the number of separate components that need to be carried and helps to keep the area around the display tidy.

The cover also plays a role when moving the equipment. A compartment is provided to house the SPL-CAP-DP measurement microphone, eliminating the need to carry this essential measurement component separately. A 3/8" mounting point on the top also accommodates the microphone’s clamp.
