Sound Processing System
The DeEsser Mk2 removes unwanted sibilant frequencies from a mix or vocal track in a simple and musical way. The new version still accurately cancels out S sounds without affecting the natural character or timbre of the voice.

Presentation
The DeEsser Mk2 offers unique technology for reducing sibilance in mixes or vocal tracks. It monitors the S frequency spectrum, automatically detects sibilant frequencies and tightly adjusts the de-essing bandwidth around the sibilant range so that neighbouring frequencies are not affected. The offending frequency band is then phase-inverted back into the main signal, so that only the S sounds are cancelled.
The result is a neutral, discreet and extremely efficient de-essing process. Even with high S reduction values, de-essing has a negligible effect on the character and timbre of the voice.
This incredibly simple and effective function is complemented by automatic threshold adjustment. Differences in input level due to varying distance from the microphone are automatically compensated for. This ensures uniform de-essing, regardless of signal level, so that any necessary compression can be applied after de-essing.
In addition, to adjust more closely to different vocal frequencies, a "Female" switch ensures a more intense response to higher-frequency S sounds.
This new generation of DeEsser has the same processing qualities as its predecessor, but with a more modern design and an even higher level of quality in terms of materials, components and design. The DeEsser Mk2 offers two mono DeEssers in a single 19″ rack-mountable unit.

Auto-Dynamic DeEsser features a new circuit technology that automatically adapts to S frequencies and reduces the bandwidth so that only the S sound range is processed and all neighbouring frequencies remain intact. The frequency band determined in this way is mixed with the original signal in the form of phase inversion, thus acoustically eliminating the S sound. The result is a neutral, unobtrusive but extremely effective working method. De-essing now has very little negative influence on the timbre of the voice; side effects such as pinching or lisping do not occur.
