When several displays need to be installed around the same sound-limiting system, the issue of cabling quickly becomes a key consideration. Audiopole’s SPL-SPLIT, an RJ45 splitter designed for the SPL-ONE, SPL-ONE-FB and SPL-DIN limiters, provides a simple solution for this setup by allowing a single connection to be split between two displays.

This is particularly useful in installations where the sound level needs to be visible from several locations. The splitter thus allows two outputs to be created from a single line, with the option of connecting two displays to the limiter. Audiopole’s documentation states that the SPL-SPLIT allows two displays to be wired to the same line.

This arrangement can be beneficial in a venue where the display needs to be viewable from several areas, for example near the control room and in a space accessible to the public or staff. It also makes it easier to adapt the layout of the displays to the physical layout of the venue, without having to overhaul the entire connection architecture.

The SPL-SPLIT therefore fits into the Audiopole SPL system’s connection chain as a distribution component rather than a processing unit. It retains the RJ45 connection standard used between the limiters and the displays whilst offering greater flexibility in their placement.
